An Exclusive New Jump Hour From Mr. Jones Watches
Made In London & Only 100 Exist
The face of this watch depicts the ancient character of The Green Man. The time is displayed on The Green Man’s teeth - the upper jaw shows the hours and the lower the minutes.
Although often an ambiguous symbol, The Green Man is generally identified with the cycle of rebirth and the season of spring. In England the character is most often encountered as the name of traditional a pub - a link back to the ancient (and modern) culture of the country.
The foliate design itself was inspired by William Morris, the great Victorian polymath and textile designer. Morris's love of the mystical and folk traditions of England also informed the decision to create a watch based on the Green Man.
The Green Man was produced in their London workshop. They printed all the components and assembled and regulated each watch in turn. You can see a series of photographs of the production process as well.
The watch is released in an edition of 100 pieces, with each watch numbered on the back of the case.
